london baby!!!

I was over in London visiting my sister during the week, it was my first time their, one of the thing that I love about London is their shops, they love the specialised shops and being from Dublin, it is the place to go for fine chocolates, a good hat or some quality perfume.
So hears a little taste of what I discovered in London!!

Paul. A.Young. fine chocolates
An adorable little chocolate shop in Camden passage, Islington, where their make all the tasty chocolates in the shop and you can buy homemade hot chocolate to go, prefect for these cold winter days

bloch,
I stumbled upon a ballet shop called Bloch in Quality Court, near the Royal Ballet. This was like haven to me, as a child the most wonderful place in the world to me was Dance World in ranelegh , when we made our annual trip to get new ballet shoes. One of my fav looks is the warm up gear of ballet dancers; maybe it steams from being a child and being in total aw of the seniors in our ballet school, and wanting to grow up and be just like them!.

The next day we went to the Tate Britan and I got to view the original pre Raphaelite works, but to tell you the truth after following the BBC serious Desperate Romantic last summer, I kept giggling to myself about Dante Gabriel Rossetti and his boldness and as I looked at the sumptuous women, I was wondering what kind of fun they must have got up too!!!

Next on the list was the Tate Modern, the building is so imposing, but one little gem in the collection really captured my imagination, Dali’s, Forgotten Horizon. I just love the whimsical nature of this image.

the veil

The veil has always held intrigue for me. And I was delighted, to see as I was flicking through this months fashion mag’s, that the veil has yet again recaptured the imagination of the designers. I do hope the trent will trickel down to the mases, so i can don one and make myself O, so mysterious!!

and in the words of G.V Dariaux. 'a full veil adds a lovely air of mystery and distinction to the most ordinary features, so that even the most humdrum housewife gives the impression of being on her way to some romantic rendezvous'

With the party season fast approaching, and with all things glitter a must, for any self respecting party girl. I looked back in time, to an era that defined high glam.

White, navy and red

One of the colour pallets that always cheer’s me up is white, navy and red. I don’t know is it because it reminds me of old seaside villages in the south of France or is it because it invokes an image of a old cottage by the sea with a big fire and being rapped up in a over size jumper and listing to the wild sea. But what ever the case the fashion world never seams to tire of these colour arrangement from Coco Chanels French sailor top to D&G spring summer collection 09. So long, may this love affair last with all things nautical

So i pulled our some nautical images that took my fancy

A trip down memory lane

When wondering down Henry St, I pop into the bodyshop to treat myself to something nice and I was pleasantly surprised to find all the classics from the 80s back on the shelf. So I had a good mooch and as I smell some of the classic such as ice blue shampoo, dewberry and banana I was flooded with childhood memories. Dewberry was to my ten year old self the height of sophistication and I just want to grow up so I could afford all these wonders, so now they are back and on special for the next two weeks at 5.99 euro.

women I love xxx

This is one of my favourite images by Robert Capa of Picasso and his lover Francoise Gilot. I love the colour contrast of Gilot dark hair and pale skin, and to me she embodies a very natural beauty. After reading her book living with Picasso, she inspire you with the potential strength and creativity of women

tip
As a lover of red, (a chanel red, rouge allure which is my secret weapon!.) One of the most important parts of the application is to use lip liner to define your lips and remember that the line should match your lip stick. And then, with care fill in the rest of your lips with your chosen colour.
