I grew up admiring and loving the work of Freda kahlo, I loved the realness and the fact that she did not need to pretty herself up . her story inspires .
However I never really payee much attention to her other half the great Mexican muralist Diego Rivera, that is until i went to see the small but fine exhibition in IMMA, and i got to discover his work. The piece that really caught my attention was a large painting of Jacques Gelman, surrounded by Lillis. In my fantasy world if I were ever to have my portrait painting this is how I would want it!
